Setting Out For Construction Distance Learning - Not including assessment or CITB certificate

What you'll get:

This distance learning course covers the content of our 5 day course Setting Out for Construction which comprises the CITB Assured courses Levelling for Construction (2 days) and Total Station for Construction (3 days).

In this course you will get up to 8 hours of 1-2-1 remote support from a trainer, and become competent in the practical aspects of levelling and total station. This option doesn't include an assessment or certificate. f you would like the CITB certificate for 5 day setting out course you will need to purchase the assessment separately. There is no obligation to do this if you don't need the certificate.

It works as follows:

We give you access to our community membership package for 3 months (worth £87)
We’ll send you a copy of the book ‘Setting out for construction: A practical guide to site surveying’ in the post (worth £50)
We’ll send you a yellow field book to record your work (worth £15.70)
You need to organise your own level and total station (we can help you find a supplier)
We provide a list of practical exercises for you to work through and a description of the evidence you need to provide for each one. You will need an assistant for some bit of it, but most can be done on your own.
Once you have completed each exercise, you can take a photograph of your field work in your book and any other relevant evidence (guidance is provided) and email it to us for marking.
We provide 8 hours of remote support via video or phone. Everybody has different requirements for contact and support so we can work to your preferred level. We can book in an hour each day to go through what you’re going to work on, or split it over two half hour sessions per day. You can spread these 8 x 1 hour, or 16 x ½ hour sessions over anything up to 6 months, but we recommend to get the best results that you spread it over between 1 week and 1 month. If you get stuck with anything at all you can call us. You can use video call if there’s anything you want us to look at to do with the equipment.
